The students who graduated from a qualified Canadian Post secondary institutions with at least 8 months of study and obtaining credentials can apply for Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP).

The qualified post-secondary institutions are:

  1. All Public Post Secondary Institutions (that provide such credentionals as Diploma, Certificate or Degree)
  2. All Private Colleges or Universities that confer degrees such as Associate Degree (2 years) or Bachelor's Degree (3-4 years) or Master's Degree.  NOTE: All diplomas or certificates from private colleges or universities are NOT eligible for PGWP
  3. Quebec Vocational degrees and University and College degrees

When to apply:

  1. Within 90 days of finishing the program (getting a transcript) and letter from the institution
  2. Before the EXPIRY date of Study Permit (usually 90 days fron the last program date)

  1. You need to graduate from a qualified Post Secondary Institiution in Canada (e.g. Public diploma/certificate or degree at least 8 months or degree from private universities
  2. Have a valid Study Permit
  3. Apply within 90 days of completing the course (after receiving a transcript)
  4. Send online or paper application to CPC-V

 

Typically it may take 2-4 months to get your PGWP work permit

PGWP would be issued from 1 year to 3 years.
